ASTA (American String Teachers Association)
My background is in classical music and I branched out to study alternative styles of string playing starting in 2004. I studied at Berklee College of Music for two years focusing on Jazz Improv and completed my degree in 2018 at USC in the Popular Music Program. I firmly believe that a well-rounded violin pedagogy includes access to, and an understanding of, multiple styles of music. Technique is key and is the foundation from which we work. I encourage incorporating scales, etudes, and technique exercises regardless of whatever style(s) you or your child chooses to work within.
Lessons are taught in 30, 45, and 60 minute intervals out of my studio in Mar Vista. I am currently accepting a limited number of students by audition only.
